Dehorning vs. Debudding

Dehorning or debudding is the process of removing or stopping the growth of cattle horns.

Debudding is the removal of horns from calves at budding stage up to 6 weeks of age. Dehorning is the amputation of horns in older cattle and is a more painful process, requiring general anaesthetic.
