Calf Aid Nutrients to support growth, immunity and health in the new born calf.
Calf Aid is a nutritional supplement formulated for oral administration in new born calves and calves that are experiencing stress. CALF AID contains ingredients required to support growth and development, promote the development of the immune system and support the resistance to infectious disease in calves.
Composition
C-Guard® is a unique blend of plant extracts and essential oils (Rosemary, Oregano and Garlic) to promote gut health, immunity and support resistance to disease. Plant extracts contain many biologically active compounds which have been found to possess antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiviral, antiprotozoal, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.
The prebiotic (Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell wall extract) contains non-digestible polysaccharides (FOS) which represent the key source of nutrients for the gut beneficial microflora.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids are required for growth and for optimal immune system function.
The trace minerals (copper, zinc, manganese and iron) are present as glycine chelates. Chelated amino acid mineral complexes have a greater bioavailability in cattle than salts or other inorganic forms.
Vitamins A, E and C have an essential role as antioxidants and to maximise the immune responses in
calves. Vitamin A is essential for maintaining healthy epithelial tissues, growth, immune response,
vision and antibody response.
B Vitamins perform key roles in the body as enzyme cofactors and/or metabolic agents. Thiamine
(Vitamin B1) is important for optimising energy metabolism and maintaining normal appetite.
Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) plays a major role to improve vigour in sick calves. Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) has a key role in supporting immune systems. Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) is involved in red blood cell synthesis, maintenance of nervous tissue and energy metabolism. A nicotinic acid deficiency in calves is associated with severe diarrhoea and appetite loss.
Immunoglobulins (IgG) are directed towards E. coli, Salmonella, rotavirus and coronavirus. It is
essential for Calf Aid Paste to be administered immediately following birth before passive transfer and absorption of IgG ceases.
It is essential that CALF AID is administered to calves as soon as possible after birth so that the immunoglobulins contained within CALF AID can be absorbed before gut absorption of immunoglobulins ceases.
