An inactivated adjuvanted vaccine for immunisation of healthy swine against porcine enzootic pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.

COMPOSITION

Inactivated Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae culture, combined with oily adjuvant and Thiomersal as a preservative.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use only as directed.

SHAKE BOTTLE WELL BEFORE AND DURING USE.

THE VACCINE MUST BE KEPT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE (15-25 °C) JUST BEFORE USE.

ADMINISTRATION

An injectable inactivated oil emulsion vaccine for intramuscular injection.

The recommended site is the side of the neck.

DOSAGE

Administer a single dose of 2 mℓ of vaccine from 21 days of age. However, in cases where enzootic pneumonia is present on farms as early infections, 1 mℓ dose can be administered from the first week of life, followed up with a booster dose of 1 mℓ 2-3 weeks later.

The onset of immunity is within 17 days after vaccination.

Duration of immunity is 6 months after vaccination.

STORAGE

Store at 2 – 8 °C. Do not freeze. Protect from sunlight. Improper storage of the vaccine may cause potency losses.

Vaccinate healthy pigs only.

Accidental self-injection may cause a severe local allergic reaction. If this occurs consult a physician.

Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.

Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a wide variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of various reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
Ensure proper dosage. Do not underdose.

Do not use antimicrobial therapy 10 days before or after vaccination.

Do not mix this vaccine with other vaccines or drugs.

Observe aseptic precautions and ensure all vaccination equipment is clean and sterile prior to use. Do not use chemicals for sterilisation.

Use entire contents once opened and do not store unused vaccine for future use.

Do not smoke, eat or drink while handling the product. Avoid contact with eyes, hands and mouth while handling the vaccine.

Wash hands after use.

Discard empty and unused containers in compliance with regulations on waste management.
