Supergain S is a high protein concentrate to mix licks or complete diets for the growth and finishing of sheep. Supergain S contains additives to prevent kidney and bladder stones in sheep. It also contains medicaments to improve growth rate and feed conversion.
Mixing Instructions
Supergain S is a high protein concentrate and must be mixed with other raw materials to be fed as a lick or complete diet for the finishing and growth of sheep. See tables below for mixing instructions or contact a Wesfed nutritionist for specific recommendations.
Feeding Recommendation
LICK: Feed at a rate of 350 – 550 g/head/day. Make sure all the animals have access to adequate roughage or pasture where the lick is fed.
COMPLETE FEED: Feed ad lib after the adaptation period. Average daily dry matter intake should be 3 - 4 % of the live body mass.
Correct adaptation is extremely important!
After the Wesfed Complete Sheep Starter phase no adaptation is necessary. If not and sheep go directly on Wesfed Complete Finisher the following adaptation procedure is recommended:
- Day 1-2: Limit intake to 1.5 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
- Day 3-4: Limit intake to 2 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
- Day 5-6: Limit intake to 2,5 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
- Day 7-8: Limit intake to 3 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
- Day 9-10: Limit intake to 3,5 % of body weight per animal per day with ad lib roughage.
If animals are completely adapted and do not show any signs of acidosis, the diet can be fed ad lib after day 10.
