DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
1 scoop = 100 ml
Intended for oral administration only. Prepare a fresh solution before each dose, by mixing 1 scoop with 2 L of warm water.
- Upon the first signs of scour, withdraw milk or milk replacer and feed 2 L of the solution twice daily for 2 days (4 feeds).
- For the next 2 days (4 feeds) use 1 L of solution and 1 L of milk replacer.
- Thereafter resume normal feeding.
- If the scouring is established or severe, causing serious dehydration, the 2 L of solution should be fed 3 - 4 times daily.
- Life-Aid Xtra may be administered on its own for a maximum of 4 days.
A fine deposit of insoluble carrier may remain after dissolving the powder; this does not affect the efficacy of the product. If signs of disease persists or re-appears, consult your veterinary practitioner.
USES
Life-Aid Xtra, a powder for oral solution, is an oral rehydration therapy which is indicated in the treatment of scour in calves. It acts by reversing the processes of dehydration, electrolyte loss and acidosis associated with scour in calves, whether due to nutritional, bacterial, viral or cryptosporidial causes.
