For animal use only.
Freeze-dried live vaccine against Newcastle disease in chickens.
COMPOSITION
Newcastle disease virus, strain La Sota: 10⁶∙⁵ EID/dose.
BIO-VAC LA SOTA is prepared using the attenuated La Sota strain of the Newcastle Disease virus, cultured on embryonated SPF eggs, freeze-dried and vacuum-sealed.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Use only as directed.
BIO-VAC LA SOTA is administered orally via the drinking water.
To obtain the vaccinal suspension, it is necessary to add a small quantity of water to the vial and thoroughly disperse the contents. At this point the suspension is added to the volume of drinking water required for vaccination, and the vial is rinsed out to ensure that no residual powder goes to waste. Once the entire contents of the vial have been dispersed in the drinking water and immediately prior to its administration to the chickens, the suspension must be thoroughly stirred once more. Skim milk powder (2 g/L or 0,2 %) should be added to the water used for the administration of the vaccine to stabilize the vaccine virus.
Ensure that the chickens are thirsty by withholding drinking water for 1 - 2 hours before administration, depending on the ambient temperatures. The quantity of water necessary for vaccination varies according to the age of the chickens, stocking rate, the season and the ambient temperature. The following is a list of the minimum and maximum volumes of water required for vaccination in relation to the first of the above-mentioned parameters:
Age of fowl
0-2 weeks: 7-10 ml water
3-4 weeks: 10-20 ml water
6-12 weeks: 20-60 ml water
Over 12 weeks: 50-80 ml water
ADMINISTRATION
Do not use in layers and breeders.
For broilers, it is advisable to perform a vaccination at 4 - 8 days and a second one (booster dose) 3 weeks after the first administration.
In case of necessity, including periods of contact with infected birds/areas, or outbreaks of infection in the vicinity of the farm, the initial vaccination may be given during the first 3 days of life.
STORAGE
Store between 2 - 8 °C. Do not freeze.
